ENTRY 2
In the previous post, I explained a little bit about CALL which is also known as Computer Assisted Language Learning and today I will tell a bit more about The Evolution of CALL.

As we all know that technology has evolved over times. Basically,
there are three progressions of CALL which are Behavioristic, Communicative and
Integrated CALL.
Behavioristic CALL (1960); it is primarily used for Audio-Lingual method and the
programmed instruction used involves repetitive drill and practices. This is to
make sure that students have a better means to keep their
knowledge stay and it is also an efficient way for students to
have a quick learning process.
Communicative CALL (1970s-1980s); focused on the usage of language
rather than perfect grammar. It allows students to generate their own original
utterances. It also creates an environment where the usage of language becomes
natural.
Integrated CALL; the age with the use of CD-ROMs and it became popular with the development of high speed internet and highly accessible hypermedia.
Now, proceed to the topic of Search Engines. What is it actually?

Well, I'll make it simple here; it's actually a web tool that allows users to enter the keywords on websites for example, Google and Yahoo.
There are four parts of search engines:
- Database: contains only essential information of a webpage.
- Web-Crawlers or Spiders: bot that "crawls" all over the webpage to collect information and stored in database.
- User Interface: A user-friendly app/site/page may input questions and search results are presented.
- Information Retrieval System: match user's query and results presented according to relevance.
That's all for now, thank you for spending your time reading this post!
